The Pumlumon Challenge

The fourth Pumlumon Challenge took place in the Cambrian Mountain range on September 27th 2008.

The event started and finished at the Nant yr Arian Forestry Centre (Map Ref. SN 717 813) approx. 8 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44. The route was over the Pumlumon hills passing the source of the Wye and the Severn. It passed through the Hengwm and Hirnant valleys, around Nantymoch dam before returning to the Vistor Centre.

In the Walkers class, there were 3 joint winners - John Ish, Richard Beek and Phil Evans, each with a time of 7 hours 39 minutes.

In the Runners class, the event was won by Mark Hartell with a time of 4 hours 25 minutes, closely followed by Martin Beale 3 minutes later.
