This is a wild, deserted plateau with five peaks and the source of the rivers Wye, Rheidol and Severn.

The Pumlumon Challenge is part of the 2007 Montrail Ultra Running Championship. www.runfurther.com Pumlumon is a wild, deserted plateau with five peaks and the source of the rivers Wye, Rheidol and Severn. Why don't YOU try to win a gold medal on the Pumlumon Challenge? Saturday 22nd September 2007 - 27 miles The event starts and finishes at the Nant yr Arian Forestry Centre (Map Ref. SN 717 813) approx. 8 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44. The route is over the Pumlumon hills passing the source of the Wye and the Severn. Then onto the Hengwm and Hirnant valleys, around Nantymoch dam and then south to one more climb before the finish. This area represents a real challenge, and should only be attempted if well prepared. Some refreshments will be available at control points, but it is advisable to carry some as well. Overnight Accommodation is available. See the accommodation pages, or use the 'Quick Links' menu button on the right to find somewhere to stay.
