WHAT IS PENTIR PUMLUMON?
A voluntary non-profit making group who wish to improve the economy in North
Ceredigion, Pentir Pumlumon is a company limited by guarantee set up by

these receive any money for the time they devote to the group. The Group
employees a full time Development Officer and a part time Administrative

a membership of about 50 local businesses, most of whom are involved in
tourism in some way.

and Ystwyth Valleys and includes the villages of Capel Bangor, Cwmrheidol,

WHAT DO WE DO?
Anything which is achievable and that will benefit the area! We aim to
promote and market the area and to develop sustainable economic regeneration
in North Ceredigion, which will benefit both tourism businesses and the
community. We have a three-year Development Strategy that encompasses
many varied, community lead projects for this period. Liasing with community
councils and various agencies is also an important part of our work.
HOW ARE PROJECTS DECIDED UPON?
We use the following process: Community
Members Board of
Directors Funders
Projects are developed and written in to a yearly action plan that is
required by the WDA. Each project will under go several phases: Project Assessment, Community Consultation, Trawl for Potential Funding, Funding Application, Project Implemented
It might be the case that a project is dropped at a certain stage due
to a negative feedback, for example if the community consultation is overwhelmingly
negative or that there is no funding available.
DO WE HAVE MONEY?
We are currently funded by the European Regional Development Fund’s Interreg IIIA strand, as well as trading activities. We do draw down money for specific projects and assist other groups and businesses to do the same. We do not however have any money to hand out to businesses and groups in the area.
HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?
As well as delivering specific projects, Pentir Pumlumon is able to assist
with the draw down of funds for groups in the area and advise businesses
on the availability of grants. The Development Officer is able to offer
advice on funding and signpost you to the right organisations depending
on your project or business idea.
